
Christopher Molla
is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and music educator. He composes for instrumental ensembles, writes songs, creates electro-acoustic music and sound art, and performs on the accordion, guitar, and keyboard as a solo artist and with various ensembles. He is currently one half of the folk punk duo Small Birds of Sound and is a founding member of the alternative rock band Camper Van Beethoven.
In addition to his work as a performer and composer, Chris is a music educator with 30+ years of teaching experience and has taught students of all ages and all levels, early childhood through adult. He holds a BA in music and an MFA in Digital Arts and New Media from UC Santa Cruz, as well as an MA in Music Composition and an Orff Schulwerk teaching certification from Mills College. Chris currently provides private lessons for youth and adults playing guitar, bass, keyboard and accordion at Guitarma in Lawrence, KS . He teaches group music classes at the Lawrence Arts Center and offers common core and early childhood music and movement workshops for preschool and elementary classroom settings.
